I am a Registered Massage Therapist who is registered with MTAA. I believe that pain is a signal for harm and relief is a signal for healing. With that mentality, I aim to provide a pain-free treatment that is targeted at the root of a person's dysfunction. I also believe that no two bodies are the same and that every person deserves personalized treatment. This is why I prefer to not rely on a single treatment technique or modality as every body and condition may be indicated for something different.
Education is a powerful tool. If a patient understands why they are in pain and how the system works than they are that much more capable of preventing further injury in the future! My email is always open to questions and I often have seminars to help educate people on the beautiful science of our bodies.
Therapeutic massage relies on detailed assessment and muscle testing to identify the root cause of painful dysfunction. The goal of assessment is to avoid chasing pain and instead form a personalized treatment plan for every individual! Therapeutic massage techniques can include Trigger Point Release, Joint mobilization and myofascial release.
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
Sport Massage is a very short, fast paced treatment with the goal being to either prep muscle for strenuos activity or to flush lactic acid and decrease muscle tension to speed up recovery. Treatments are usually no longer than 15 minutes and can be performed before or after a sporting event or workout.
